The International Communication (Wuxi) Forum took place in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Nov 8, drawing over 150 guests from around the globe to discuss innovative strategies for elevating city image on the international stage.
Under the theme "AI Powering a World of Smart Connectivity", the forum emphasized how cities can use innovative storytelling and digital empowerment to strengthen their international communication efforts.
During the event, Wuxi highlighted its key international communication initiatives for 2025 and 2026. These include the Wuxi International Communication Alliance, the IP WUXI Platform, a city documentary project, and a plan to promote Chinese folk music.

CCTV.com presented successful case studies of international communication, illustrating how digital tools and creative storytelling can boost global engagement. Furthermore, China Daily Website and the Wuxi International Communication Integrated Media Center initiated the #MyRobotBuddy social media campaign, urging media accounts to display how embodied robots are used in various settings throughout China.
Wuxi also debuted the second season of A Touch of Wuxi, a short documentary series that highlights the city's rich history and culture as well as its modern appeal. Furthermore, the upgraded "Charming Wuxi" English website was launched, offering international visitors a user-friendly platform to discover Wuxi.

The forum also welcomed a new member to the Wuxi International Communication Alliance — the Pioneer Public Welfare Cultural Volunteer Service Center. A plaque was presented to the center's director, Zhang Hairong. Marie-desiree Ablegue, an international student from Jiangnan University and a member of the center, shared her experiences with the "Charming Wuxi" English platform.

Experts from around the world discussed AI's role in content creation and global communication, emphasizing its transformative effect on media integration. Qin Gang, a senior member of the Global SMILE Cities Expert Committee, noted AI's importance in boosting city branding. Douglas Dueno, a foreign influencer at the China Storyteller Partnerships Wuxi Branch, talked about his experience with AI digital humans in international communication.
