The prestigious Marriott Hotels is poised to unveil a new location at the International Finance Square in Wuxi, with an expected opening later this year.
The soon-to-open Wuxi Taihu Square Marriott Hotel will span the 53rd to 65th floors of the IFS and feature a total of 281 rooms and suites, allowing guests to enjoy the breathtaking views of the city's vibrant cityscape and the picturesque Taihu Lake.
"Establishing a presence in Wuxi's core area marks a pivotal step in our brand's strategic expansion," said a hotel representative. "This decision reflects our long-term confidence in Wuxi's urban potential, economic growth prospects, and the burgeoning luxury hotel market."
The hotel promises a premium lodging experience, complete with premium dining options, a spacious banquet hall, versatile meeting spaces, and top-tier fitness and leisure facilities.
Marriott's expansion is part of a broader trend of international luxury hotel brands rapidly establishing a foothold in Wuxi. Over the past year, several global hotel groups have set up operations in the city.
In the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, Marriott's Four Points by Sheraton has secured an agreement to set up a presence and the Shangri-La Group also has a property there. Meanwhile, Huishan New City has welcomed three brands from the Hilton Group; the Sofitel Yangshan Lake has completed its primary structure and is slated to open in 2027; and Accor's MGallery opened its doors in 2025 in Dangkou Ancient Town.
These luxury hotels are expected to bolster Wuxi's ability to attract international business, innovative talent, and leisure tourism, catalyzing the city's modern service industry and taking it to new levels.
