The annual Yuantouzhu Water and Music Fireworks Show is returning this autumn for the Mid‑Autumn Festival and National Day holidays with a new theme and upgraded displays.
Scheduled to run over four evenings — Sept 25, Oct 1, Oct 3 and Oct 5 — the event will take place at the Yuantouzhu Scenic Area on the shores of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
This year's edition builds on the popularity of the 2025 show, which went viral with its cherry blossom-shaped fireworks. Organizers have unveiled an upgraded version this year inspired by the 12 flower deities, a motif drawn from Chinese folklore.
Each of the four performances will follow a distinct color palette and theme, drawing from the seasonal landscapes and blossoms around Taihu Lake. The displays are choreographed to music and staged over the water.
Yuantouzhu, a popular peninsula on Taihu Lake, typically attracts large crowds during the Mid‑Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. This year's upgraded shows are expected to further boost visitor numbers.
