Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board held a roadshow in Wuxi on Oct 16, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the city's culture, broadcasting and tourism bureau to expand two-way visitor flows and deepen cooperation.
The MOU is expected to help both sides capitalize on the China-Malaysia mutual visa-exemption policy.
The event brought together 72 Malaysian tourism organizations and travel suppliers. They promoted the country's multicultural attractions and coastal wellness offerings while connecting with local operators to tap inbound tourism opportunities.

Wuxi, a water-rich city in Jiangsu province, is known as the cradle of Wu Culture, the hometown of renowned traveler Xu Xiake (1587-1641), and a UNESCO City of Music. Its Jiangnan scenery and cultural appeal complement Malaysia's diverse tourism products.
Cooperation has gained momentum this year. Juneyao Air launched a Wuxi-Kuala Lumpur route on March 19, providing a direct air link for travelers. By the end of August, Wuxi had received more than 18,000 Malaysian overnight visitors, up 12.87 percent year-on-year, making Malaysia one of the city's most important inbound source markets.
In September, Jiangsu introduced 10 measures to boost inbound tourism consumption, listing Malaysia among six priority source markets and Wuxi as one of four key inbound tourism cities. With more direct links and policy support, Wuxi expects to welcome more Malaysian visitors and roll out more travel products from Wuxi to Malaysia.
