The 2023 Taihu Bay Future Healthcare Conference kicked off in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on May 18.
The conference, focusing on the innovative development of the healthcare industry and digital trends, aims to forge a domestically first-class and international renowned platform integrating investment and financing service, technology exchanges and cooperation, and high-end talent in the healthcare industry.
At the conference site, 62 biomedical funds and industrialization projects were signed into effect, with a total investment exceeding 26 billion yuan ($3.7 billion), which will inject strong vitality into the development of Wuxi's biomedical industry.
During the conference, four keynote speeches were given by experts on immunotherapy and biomedicine, reflections on medical insurance, innovation and internationalization of the development of the healthcare industry, and ways to advance the reform of national science and technology program management and to promote scientific and technological innovation in the biomedical industry.

Seven experts also shared their views on the internationalization and integration of production and finance in the healthcare industry during a round-table conversation at the event.
As one of the four iconic industries of Wuxi, the biomedical industry has been developing at a high speed. In the past three years, the scale of the city's biomedical industry has grown at an annual average rate of 18 percent, with an annual increase of over 200 enterprises. In 2022, the biomedical industry cluster in Wuxi was selected among the top 20 prefecture-level cities in China Biomedical Industry Barometer for the first time.
